“A family, school, and community partnership that provides equitable access to holistic opportunities, so children are ready to learn and positioned to succeed.”
Bester Community of Hope works to strengthen the connection between home and school to ensure ALL South End students have access to quality opportunities from cradle to career.
FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES
Bester Community of Hope’s family support team provides holistic wraparound in-home family support services to children and families that reside within the Bester Elementary School district. Through the Maryland Community Health Resources Commission and their Consortium on Coordinated Community Supports funding opportunity, BCOH is now able to provide these same critical services to South Hagerstown High School students starting June 2024. Students and their families are referred for services through the schools student support teams and are provided at no cost to families. For more information or to make a referral, please contact Teri Conrad, Director of Family Services at 240-513-6370 or email tconrad@besterhope.org. CASH-N-DREAMS
In partnership with the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, Hagerstown Community College, Washington County Public Schools, First United Bank, and F & M Trust, BCOH facilitates a cohort of South Hagerstown High School students every school year for six months of programming that includes youth-focused financial education, as well as future planning for their college, career, or entrepreneurship goals. Sessions also include diverse local business and community leaders who share wisdom on their path to success. Students identify next steps toward their future goals and are provided key investments making these dreams a reality!
For more information on the Cash-N-Dreams program, please connect with Alicia Taluskie, Neighborhood Partnership Coordinator at 240-513-6370 or ataluskie@besterhope.org
