Bester Community of Hope is once again celebrating community spirit as the 10th Annual South End Community Block Party returns to Hagerstown City Park on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free, family-friendly event promises fun, connection, and community support for residents of all ages.

This year’s event includes a designated area for children where they can play until their heart is content with a variety of inflatable games scattered across the park. Returning this year will also be a costumed character available for complimentary meet-and-greets and photo ops, adding extra delight for young attendees.

Local agencies and service providers will host vendor tables offering information and assistance on topics such as health and wellness, housing support, job opportunities, education, and more. We encourage families to stop by and learn about valuable services that are available right here in their neighborhood.

Headlining the afternoon entertainment is the renowned Chuck Brown Band, celebrated nationally as the “Godfather of Go-Go.” Known for their rhythms and high-energy performances, the band is expected to deliver an unforgettable show during this year’s event.

Families attending should plan to spend the afternoon visiting sponsor booths, enjoying the kids’ activities, and capping the day with spirited music from the Chuck Brown Band. Food trucks and the concession stand will also be on-site for those seeking snacks and meals.

This event is completely free and open to people of all ages.  For more information, please follow our Facebook page at: https://facebook.com/besterhope or contact Alicia Taluskie at 240-513-6370.
